Edita: ‘I feel feminine but strong wearing Bulgari Omnia Indian Garnet’
She’s the muse of Bulgari’s Omnia Indian Garnet campaign, but what’s behind the face that’s impressed the world’s best designers and photographers? As it turns out, Lithuanian model Edita Vilkeviciute is a warm and friendly 25-year-old who didn’t even wear perfume growing up, is not afraid to indulge in pasta and knows how to take a killer selfie.
PHILIPPINE STAR: What was your first impression of the fragrance?
EDITA: My first impression was, “Oh, my god, I love it.â€
When would you wear Indian Garnet?
I would wear it everywhere. I feel feminine but strong.
Do you have any stories to tell from the shoot?
We went to Sorrento in Italy, an amazing, amazing place. If you haven’t been you should totally go. The photographer was Mikael Jansson. We shoot all the time with him. We really had a very great time together. We ate a lot — fantastic pastas two times a day.
What are your beauty secrets?
My diet is not a diet; it’s eating healthy, which is no salt, no sugars, no breads. But I think in Italy the products are so good and so organic that it doesn’t really matter.
Do you work out regularly?
I do work out when I’m in New York, but usually I’m never in New York. (laughs) I have a personal trainer; I go to the gym. I try to work out and do cardio when I’m traveling. We have gyms everywhere, right, so I try to make it my habit.
How do you take care of your skin?
I drink a lot — a lot — of water. For me, in a few days, my skin changes completely. And then I clean very well every night. I use wash for the face, toner especially in summer, and face cream every day.
How do you wear perfume?
Usually I spray it and walk into the perfume. I like that it’s all over.
How old were you when you first wore perfume?
Maybe 16 or 17. For me, growing up, perfume was something I couldn’t have, my mom didn’t have. It was not accessible to us, so for me it was like a dream. I couldn’t wait to own perfume.
What scents make you feel good?
I really like flowery, citrusy and also fresh scents. On other people I like it super-strong — when you pass by someone and you almost turn around and look at them.
How about scents on men?
I like when men wear perfume but not too strong. I think the woman has to be stronger. (laughs) — THERESE JAMORA-GARCEAU
