Neil Procter & Irene Bausas: An English wedding with a Filipino flavor
MANILA, Philippines - Irene Bausas and Neil Procter were married at St Wilfrid’s, an 18th century Catholic Church in Lancashire, England, where Neil grew up. This area is in Ribble Valley, North England, where Queen Elizabeth goes on holiday.
Irene walked down the aisle wearing a dress made by her friend, Tria Villasis-Ramolete. It was an English wedding with Filipino elements to it which made it interesting for the couple’s families and friends. Invites were made by Kerwin Chua’s Printed Matter. Irene’s dad and Neil’s barong were both made in Batangas. The couple both love chocolates so favors were tableas from Batangas. The bride’s friend, Sharina of Taylor Made Treats in Essex, made the three layered cake and cake topper. One layer of the cake was ube macapuno. The dessert table also had pastillas, pili tart and pulvoron from Bulacan Sweets. Neil’s groom cake was made of Heineken beer cans which he shared with his mates through the night.
Reception was at Ferraris Country House Hotel which was built around 1830. It was the perfect setting for an English wedding with its beautifully manicured gardens and lovely country house set across over four acres of land.
