From The Memoirs of a Non-Enemy Combatant is about Boyet Hernandez, a fashion school graduate from the Philippines chasing the American dream in ruthless, fashionable New York.

“This is a sly, witty novel. You’ll be quoting lines from it for your friends,” says David Bezmozgis, author of The Free World of the novel.

“Finally a young American novelist who has the guts to confront the absurdity of the last decade. Gilvarry has given us a sly, hilarious, and wickedly insightful book abnout living in the United States in the aftermath of September 11,” adds Michael Hastings, author of The Runway General.
