Asi Taulava charity basketball game: Built upon the rock

- The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - What do Asi Taulava, Chris Tiu, Derek Ramsay and Billy Crawford have in common?

What do Asi Taulava, Chris Tiu, Derek Ramsay and Billy Crawford have in common? A lot! For a start, there’s Swatch, healthy lifestyles, sports (especially basketball), outstanding talent in their respective fields, popularity, generous hearts… and the list goes on and on.

Tonight, at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig at 7 p.m., there will be a first-time-ever Swatch basketball team organized only for the event, composed of Asi (playing coach), Chris, Derek, Billy, Matteo Guidicelli, Carlos Agassi and known basketball superstars Chris Lutz, Mac Mac Cardona, Ren Ren Ritualo, Arwind Santos, Chris Ross, Kelly Williams, Marcio Lassiter, Dylan Ababou, Denok Miranda, Mark Barroca, Gerard Francisco, Doug Kramer and Jay Jay Helterbrand. The team will play for charity and bragging rights versus the Jimmy Alapag-coached Blackwater team.

All proceeds will go to the flood victims of Bulacan, Pasig and Rizal where some areas remain unreachable and unaided. The hope is to pick up these communities with material help and by lifting spirits. Asi’s commitment to personally manage packing and distribution will go a long way.

Tickets to watch the all-star Swatch game are P1,000, P500, P200 and P100. Ynares Sports Arena is well designed, with every seat offering good view.

So push the button for “fun” as Swatch pushes the button for caring.
