Senate spouses play Santa at SM
MANILA, Philippines - Christmas came early for the children of the Tahanang Mapagpala Foundation when members of the Senate Spouses Foundation treated them to a day of fun, food, and shopping at SM Megamall.
It was Christmas in November for the 55 children in this joint annual project of SM and the Senate Spouses Foundation Inc., which aims to bring the joys of Christmas to less fortunate kids.
Senate spouses Eloisa Fernan, Mila Drilon, Taguig Mayor Lani Cayetano, Rep. Lani Mercado-Revilla, and Gloria Angara played moms for a day to the batch of kids assigned to them, taking them around SM Department Store to shop for clothes, toys, shoes, and other goodies. They were joined by SM Investments Corporation vice chair Tessie Sy-Coson.
Representatives of Cristina Ponce Enrile, Victoria Guingona, Cynthia Villar, Governor Vilma Santos-Recto, and Atty. Louise Araneta-Marcos also helped bring cheer to the kids.
In return, the kids sang the poignant Liwanag ng Pasko to the Senate spouses and SM. A brunch at Wendy’s and merienda at Jollibee completed the day.
