ICA marks 75th year with anniversary collectibles

-

MANILA, Philippines - The Immaculate Conception Academy (ICA) celebrates its 75th founding anniversary as the first Catholic Chinese-Filipino School in the Philippines.

For this special event, ICA Batch ’86 produced three ICA 75th anniversary collections: the ICA 75th Year Watch by Swatch (P3,500), graphic tees (P300/each) and flip-flops (P300/pair).

For orders, call ICA Alumnae Association Office at 721-2687 or SMS 0917-5239345.

The commemorative ICA 75th Year Watch by Swatch design is inspired by the blue and white porcelain Ming vase and will be the last watch to feature this watch face. As for the other collectibles, the Batch ’86 Core Committee chose two art poster entries submitted in a schoolwide poster-making contest. Kate Go’s creative portrait artwork was chosen for the graphic tee, while Clarisse Gono’s fun kids cartoon design was used for the flip-flops.

Proceeds from the sale will go to the beneficiaries of the ICA Scholarship Foundation and Teachers Development.

Another main project the batch is producing is the lifestyle reference magazine Celebrate!, which is a compilation of interesting articles from noted ICAns such as Cindy Yap Yang, Cherry Pacheco, Debbie Tan, Jullie Yap Daza, Kitty Go, Lorraine Bangayan, Majoy Yap-Kawpeng, Marilou Lao-Arceo, Queena Lee, Riza Go Tian, Robina Gokongwei-Pe, Sheree Roxas-Chua Gotuaco, Shirley Tan and Dr. Josefina Ly.

Batch 1986 also celebrates ICA’s 75th anniversary in its homecoming year. To commemorate this, the alumni association produced the book, A Cut Above, featuring 75 ICAns, individuals, and groups who have led extraordinary lives.

The ICA Homecoming will be held on Nov. 19, 4 p.m., at the ICA grounds, Greenhills, San Juan.
