What makes you smile
Different situations and so many reasons make us smile. And every time we do, it not only makes us feel good but it can also brighten up those we come across with. It doesn’t take too much to give out our smile but it can mean so much to that person we give it to.

I always smile when I see little children discover new things. I like it when their eyes light up as they realize that pressing a button brings out a picture on TV, or that hearing a parent’s voice through a mobile phone is possible. These are very ordinary things for us adults, but for them each discovery opens up a new world.

The very thought of my husband Franco and our three children Mariella, Hasan and Angia makes me smile. Being with my family and seeing them happy and healthy puts a smile on my face. Spending time with my dearest and closest friends always makes me smile. Knowing that I gave my best in my work and performances makes me smile. Knowing that God loves me makes me smile all the time.

I smile easily because life is a beautiful blessing from God. When we smile, many times the world smiles back at us. What makes my heart smile though? When all is well with our lives and world, goodness and kindness abound — a grateful smile will naturally emit.

Hibok Hibok in Camiguin, at midnight under the palm trees; collecting colored pebble stones at Pasaleng Bay in Claveria, Cagayan; the magnificent view of Mayon Volcano, upon descent of the aircraft; walking on the nightingale floor of a ninja castle in Kyoto, Japan; another silver bracelet from Tiffany’s New York.
