Iba na si Jinkee! Meet Pacquiao's 'new wife'

- Ching M. Alano -

MANILA, Philippines - There’s no truth to the rumor that the world’s best pound-for-pound boxer Manny Pacquiao has a new girlfriend. Fact is, the gorgeous girl you see beside him now is his “new wife” — that is, the new Jinkee Pacquiao!

The “new” Jinkee Pacquiao, a pound-for-pound knockout beauty, was introduced to media at the launch of the Belo Nutraceuticals held recently at Manila Shangri-La’s Red.

“The Jinkee you see now is so much different from the Jinkee before,” comes Jinkee Pacquiao’s big, bold, beautiful message. “I want to hear people say, ‘Iba na si Jinkee.’ And not, ‘Kawawa naman si Jinkee.’”

Squarely fighting off rumors regarding Manny’s alleged indiscretions, Jinkee throws a fistful: “Ayoko nang magalit, gusto ko na lang magpaganda (I don’t want to be angry anymore, I will just make myself beautiful).”

With a vengeance, she tells women, “You should look good every day. Stay positive. Ask God for what will give you peace for yourself and your family.”

For her part, Jinkee confesses she tries to look beautiful so people would say, “Okay naman si Jinkee, maganda naman pala sya!”

A veteran of many a bruising battle, Jinkee says that the changes in her life are not just skin-deep. “You don’t know what your future would be with somebody,” she begins to share her fairy-tale story. “I didn’t think Manny would be this big. Minahal ko lang sya. My life with him before was so simple. When we were hard-up, we would borrow money with interest from our neighbors. Now, we can go to all these sosyal places.”

Beauty pill: Belo Nutraceuticals Glutathione + Collagen addresses whitening and anti-aging from within.

And now, Jinkee faces yet another battle. She fights aging with the Belo Nutraceuticals Glutathione + Collagen which she endorses.

“It’s not enough to be white, you have to look young,” says the ageless beauty doctor to the stars Vicki Belo. “As we age, the collagen in our face gets lazy. Collagen is the most dominant protein occupying 30 percent in the body; 70 percent of it is in the face. It inhibits the formation of wrinkles by keeping the skin elastic and supple.”

Now comes Belo Neutraceuticals to address whitening and anti-aging from within. This beauty pill contains: marine collagen, naturally derived from codfish, to help increase skin elasticity and suppleness; sodium ascorbate (vitamin C) to help boost the glutathione level in the blood, thus increasing the antioxidative property and whitening effect on the skin; hydroxyproline to enhance collagen synthesis and moisturize skin; alpha lipoic acid (ALA) to recycle antioxidants such as vitamin C and glutathione even after they have been used up: coenzyme Q10, an antioxidant that helps protect the skin from the harmful effects of free radicals, thus preventing premature skin aging.

Vicki relates, “Jinkee came to our clinic four years ago, but she didn’t want to meet me, she was so shy. So I hijacked her and asked her if she could be our endorser. I can see so much beauty in her. I have seen her evolve. She’s amazing. I admire her strength.”

Here’s more of the new, fearless Jinkee in a one-on-one interview with The Philippine STAR:

PHILIPPINE STAR: You look absolutely beautiful, Jinkee. What makes you glow?

JINKEE PACQUIAO: It’s the Belo Nutraceuticals, a beauty pill with glutathione and collagen that whitens and makes you look young at the same time.

What was your reaction when you were offered to endorse this product?

I accepted it right away. I was happy with their proposal from the very start. I believe in Belo products because I’ve been with them even before. I met Vicki Belo two years ago, but long before that, I was watching her on TV and I was thinking, “Sana makapunta ako sa Belo Clinic.” Talagang dyan ako pupunta if ever may papagawa ako o magpapaganda (I wish I could go to the Belo Clinic. That’s really where I’d go if ever I’d need work done or any beauty treatment).

What beauty procedures have you undergone at the Belo Clinic?

Marami na rin. Lipo, after I gave birth to my two boys — arms, lower and upper abdomen, bat wings. For the face, Ulthera skin tightening, filler, yun!

So now, do you feel good about yourself?

Yes, I feel good, better, and confident! When I look in the mirror, I could compare the “before” and “after.”

 And you have your billboard?

Yes, the billboard on the gluta pill. And before that, when I was endorsing the Belo diet injection.

What does Manny say about your many admirers? “Sinasabi nya, ‘Try lang nila!’ Manny is tahimik na seloso. He doesn’t show it. Pero minsan, binabanggit nya, ‘Oy, hindi ko nagustuhan yung kanina, yung may kausap ka, baka kinuha yung number mo.’” Photos by JUN MENDOZA

What does Manny say about the new you?

Okay naman sya, pero hindi sya masyadong yung parang nagsasalita about it, like asking, “Ano ba ang pinapagawa mo?” Meron syang napapansin, “Ah, nagpa-ano ka, ’no?”

What do you like about Vicki Belo?

Aside from being a good friend, she was really the one who helped bring out the best in me, to be confident. She also gives me advice about family and relationships.

What do you think makes a woman sexy?

When she’s simple, she’s true to herself.

What makes a man sexy?

If he’s true to himself. Yung totoong tao sya. He does not lie. He does not pretend. He’s not arrogant. Like Manny.

How old are you?

I’m 32. Manny and I are of the same age.

Do you plan to have more kids?

Hindi na siguro. I already have two boys and two girls: Emmanuel Jr., 10; Michael Stephen, 9; Princess, 5; Queenie, 3. I don’t have enough time for my four kids now, how much more if I have another kid or more kids? Kawawa naman yung mga bata.

What does Manny say about it?

Eight kasi ang gusto nya! Yun talaga ang gusto nya. Pero napag-usapan na namin na hindi muna. Kailangan magkaron muna sya ng time. He’s the one who will set aside his free time, nobody can dictate his schedule. He can say, “Family day ngayon, kailangan walang mga meetings.”

If you catch Manny doing some mischief again, what would you do?

Something that will hurt me again? It depends on what he’s doing again. If it’s something really foul that I would lose my respect for him. I don’t want that he would repeat a wrongdoing. One mistake is enough. I don’t want to be a martyr forever.

Do you think a woman should fight for her man?

Of course! If you love someone, you’ll fight for him because love is there. If there’s no more love, let him go.

You’re good friends with Paris Hilton. How did you feel when you first met her?

I was star-struck. Because I would only see her in magazines. It’s like every time I would buy a magazine, she’s there. I told her I was glad I met her and I couldn’t believe it! She just smiled and said, “You’re such a good couple. Your husband is so good. He’s my idol.”

What struck you about Paris? What did you like about her?

She’s very approachable. Yung hindi ka naiilang na kausapin sya. She talks to you, madaldal. And she appreciates you, “I like your earrings, I like the way you dress.” Para sa akin, mabait sya.

Will you see her again? Do you keep in touch?

Definitely, on Manny’s fight (vs. Juan Manuel Marquez) on November 12. She said she was watching Manny again. I told her we’ll see each other in Las Vegas. Hindi naman kami yung parang we text each other every day. Minsan lang, “How are you?”

Where do you like to shop? What are your favorite brands/stores?

I shop mostly abroad. In the US, my favorite stores are BCBG, Neiman Marcus, a lot of stores I visit, check out what’s there. My favorite brand is Bebe, it’s nice, it’s affordable. For bags, Louis Vuitton and Chanel, which I buy in the US. Only if I really want it because I don’t want to have a lot that I don’t use.

I go to the outlet malls, places that are not too crowded.

What are your latest shopping finds?

I have a friend from whom I order, I haven’t been to the US for five months now. I check the Internet for what’s new and I order from her. Because in the summertime, there are a lot of sexy dresses coming out.

You seem to have everything, what else do you desire?

Yung peace and happiness na lang. If you don’t have this, all the material things in the world will not matter.

What do you do with the old stuff in your closets?

I have a boutique in Gen San (South Cotobato), so some I display there. Marami ring nag-aabang sa mga lumang gamit ko. I sell them at half their original prices; they’re only three years old and worn just once.

How many bags and shoes do you have?

Hundreds of bags and hundreds of shoes, which I keep in my houses in Sta. Rosa, Laguna and Gen San. Kasi sa Laguna, maliit ang bahay namin, nagsisiksikan ang mga gamit ko.

Are you moving into your new house in Makati?

Yes, yung sa Forbes. It will be finished by September 30; it will be turned over to us. It’s a three-story house with six bedrooms and a big garden. Tamang-tama lang sa amin kasi madami kami — may bodyguards, three drivers, apat na yaya, dalawang tagalinis, one cook, and an assistant cook. We’re about 15 in the house.

You don’t cook?

No. I cooked when I was in high school and in college. Simple lang, Filipino food like adobo. Before, early in our marriage, Manny would sometimes cook.

How do you and Manny spend time together?

Watch a movie at home. Play games with the kids, usually on Saturday and Sunday. If Manny has a taping or he’s shooting a commercial, we visit him on the set, so at least we have time together as a family.

What’s the most expensive gift Manny has given you?

A Rolex watch.

What’s the most expensive gift you’ve given Manny?

A Rolex watch, too.

What’s the best gift Manny has given you?

His unconditional love and his being faithful is good enough for me.

What is it that he has yet to give you on your wish list?

Nothing more. All I ask for is his love and faithfulness.

What has been your biggest fight as a couple?

Sa lahat ng mga pinagdaanan namin, pinaglaban ko rin sya, ayaw kong mawala sya sa amin. We almost separated because of intrigues. It was not because of jealousy; hindi ako masyadong selosa. At the beginning, medyo selosa.

What was the worst intrigue said about you and Manny?

I don’t remember any. Yung di naman pinakagrabe, yung sinasabi nilang plastic si Manny at suplada ako.

Isn’t Manny the one who’s jealous, now that you’re attracting a lot of suitors?

Hindi naman suitors, parang admirers lang. Minsan, they send their messages on Facebook: You look good. You look gorgeous. Stay pretty.

What does Manny say about your many admirers?

Sinasabi nya, “Try lang nila!” Manny is tahimik na seloso. He doesn’t show it. Pero minsan, binabanggit nya, “Oy, hindi ko nagustuhan yung kanina, yung may kausap ka, baka kinuha yung number mo.”

Does he forbid you from wearing sexy clothes?

Not really, but not so revealing it shows everything because he says he’s a politician now, his wife has to be presentable.

Do you have political plans?

A big NO! I just want to support my husband in his political career. But I’ve had offers — if Manny runs for governor and he’s had three terms as a congressman, puede naman daw ako.

Would you agree to be an artista if asked? Who’s your dream leading man?

Okay lang. But Manny doesn’t want me to go into showbiz. We already talked about it. He doesn’t want me to have a leading man, to be holding hands with a man, to be talking to a man. But if it were up to me, I would want Gerald Anderson to be my leading man, he’s also from Gen San, my kababayan.

What are your fears?

Maybe about my family, people who want to destroy us. Also, my children going astray, losing the good values they were taught, or going into any vice.

What makes you truly happy?

When I’m with my children, when we’re bonding as a family. These are precious and few moments when they’re happy and I’m happy.

What did you want to be when you were a child?

I just wanted to finish school and get a job to help my siblings and parents. I took up computer programming for one year in Gen San and business management for one year in Davao. After that, I worked. I was a working student in Davao and my second job was in Gen San, where I met Manny. We were both 19. At 20, we got married.

What would you like your children to be?

To be successful in whatever career they choose. Michael wants to sing and dance. Emmanuel, my eldest, wants to be a basketball player, he loves playing basketball. Princess wants to be an artista, she’s not shy, she has the guts. She’s Manny and Mommy D combined.

Speaking of Mommy D, how’s your relationship with her?

We’re okay now. Before, there were some problems.

How long do you still want Manny to be in the boxing ring?

It depends on Manny. But if it were up to me, anytime he can retire, this year or next year. Mommy D also wants him to retire.

What are your plans after Manny’s retirement?

I’ve started going into business, I will concentrate on that. I have a boutique, a coffee shop, we have buildings, I’m opening a pension house in Gen San in November. I’m always there, Gen San has improved a lot. It is more beautiful now.
