Bea Alonzo: An angelic chef in the making

MANILA, Philippines -  Bea Alonzo, the country’s favorite leading lady, dares to outdo herself once more in her new role(s) as ambassador for Angel Canned Milk and as a culinary student.

Bea reunited with her inner cook last summer when she was chosen to be the new endorser of Angel Milk.

“I’m a passionate cook that’s why I’m so happy when I got this offer. Angel inspired me to hone my culinary skills further,” enthuses Bea.

Bea is now taking cooking lessons at Enderun College in McKinley Hill, Taguig City under two of the institution’s kitchen masters: corporate culinary head chef See Cheong Yan and senior culinary arts lecturer chef Thomas Wenger.

“Angel has been a reliable partner in the kitchen. Angel Evaporated Filled Milk is a versatile ingredient. It challenges and inspires me to come up with new and exciting dishes like the glazed pork Boston butt and caramelized onion sandwich (recipe below),” she adds.

For budding chefs (like Bea) who love to put their unique “Angel touch” to the dishes they prepare, there couldn’t be a better alternative than Angel Evaporated Filled Milk.

“It just makes dishes creamier, richer, and more satisfying. Angel Evaporated Filled Milk is my not-so-secret ingredient in whipping up marinades, soups, pasta sauces, and meat and vegetable dishes,” Bea notes.

Bea learned the basics of cooking from her grandmother, the Internet, and from watching Iron Chef and Everyday Italian. Needless to say, taking a culinary course is the next big step that takes Bea closer to her dream of wearing a toque.

“The best thing I’ve learned from this cooking program is that you have to be creative and inspired at all times,” she adds.
