Fond memories made at SM Davao
MANILA, Philippines - I have always been in love with Davao, the city where I and my family reside. We have always felt really blessed because with Mount Apo lying beside us, we are typhoon-free. We enjoy great weather all year round. Because of this, outdoor fun for us is available anytime. Just a 15-minute ride from our downtown area has you basking under the famed white coast of Samal Island sun; a short 45-minute drive can bring you face to face with the Philippine eagle. Moreover, our downtown area boosts a variety of nightspots where parties are unforgettable.
Another thing that I really love here in Davao City is the abundance of natural resources. Every fruit season means a feast for every soul here in Davao. From the famous durian, mangosteen, lanzones, rambutan and, yes, pomelo! During peak season, the prices of these fruits can nosedive to as low as P10 per kilo. I remember during college, along with my classmates, we would flock along the roads of Magsaysay or Madrazo to grab a bite of durian. Never mind the smell; it tastes like heaven, they say. One more thing that is so abundant in my city is the potable water: we have the cleanest supply in the world, reportedly, bested only by the Netherlands.
Finally, what makes me love my city most are the people in it. Davaoeños are respectful, disciplined and, most especially, sunny! I have made so many friends here in Davao ,that I swear, this is one place I would never trade for anything! What makes me luckier is that Davao has SM City to house all my fond memories: this is where me and my friends meet for some catching up, this is where my family gets together, and most especially, this is where I and hubby unwind by watching a movie at SM Cinema or do a chore we really love together: groceries at SM Supermarket!
