Rustan's celebrates Bulacan and Batangas heritage
MANILA, Philippines - Being a Filipino is indeed a rewarding feeling. The Filipino culture is rich with so much history and culture. For example, the familial custom Filipinos have of standing by their advocacies is something that sets them apart from other societies.
Rustan’s joins the Filipino Heritage Festival month celebrations this May with Bulacan and Batangas, an annual heritage festival as they highlight, promote and offer different merchandise, furniture, food and delicacies from these Tagalog provinces.
The festival was celebrated last May 21, at the fourth floor of Rustan’s Makati with Filipino storytelling of Batangas and Bulacan myths and folklore, cooking demonstration of Batangueño and Bulakeño delicacies, and a food fair of different food items from the two provinces.
This is also a time to highlight Rustan’s Department Store pioneers, Ambassador Bienvenido R. Tantoco and his late wife Mrs. Gliceria Rustia Tantoco, who come from these two Tagalog provinces and who both embody being truly Filipino as illustrated by their clan that now runs the Rustan’s Group of Companies.
Filipino Heritage Festival is supported by Department of Tourism, National Commission for Culture and the Arts and Rustan’s. For more information, call 892-5865 or log on to www.heritagefestival.ph.
