Domingo Landicho's book on Ninoy & Cory to be launched
MANILA, Philippines - C&E Publishing, Inc. and the De La Salle University Academic Publications Office will launch Ninoy at Cory: Magkabiyak na Bayani by Domingo G. Landicho at C&E’s Information Resource Center on Quezon Avenue in Quezon City on May 21 at 4 p.m.
The 5x7”, 230-page book in Filipino details the exemplary lives of Senator Benigno S. Aquino Jr. and President Corazon C. Aquino in narrative and verse forms. Part I revolves around Ninoy’s early life and career as a journalist, his rise in politics, and eventual martyrdom for democracy. Part II is a poetical rendition of Cory’s life, specifically as a wife and mother, and the embodiment of the spirit of freedom in the darkest hour of Philippine political history.
Dr. Landicho, the author, is a poet, novelist, essayist, playwright, theater artist, and professor emeritus at the University of the Philippines. He has over 50 books to his credit. Some of his poetry has been set to music by respected artists; his sarswelas have been performed nationwide; and his novel Bulaklak ng Maynila has been adapted into film.
