Nickelodeon invades 20 schools

-

MANILA, Philippines - The “happy pack” attacked and it left thousands of students slimed, smiling and happy! Yes, the Nick Takes Over Your School slime mobile roved around Metro Manila, Pampanga, Cebu and Cagayan de Oro to slime lots of students silly from August 2009 until February this year!

Nick Takes Over Your School (NTOYS) is a nationwide program dedicated to promoting fun, sportsmanship, team spirit, and physical challenge among grade school students ranging from seven to 12 years old. Aside from slime, NTOYS also brought along SpongeBob SquarePants’ optimism, playful attitude, and enthusiasm.

A slime-packed, fun-filled day was brought to students of Southville International School, Makati Hope Christian School, and St. Anthony School in Metro Manila.

In Cagayan de Oro City, students of Corpus Christi School, Kong Hua School, and St. Mary’s School had a grand slime-and-grime time with a string of Nickified games, plus a whole day of prizes and surprises. Not to be outdone were students of Sacred Heart Jesuit School in Cebu City who also “got their Nick on” and had fun making mess after gooey mess.

From Cebu, the campus compass pointed back to Metro Manila and brought the fun to students of St. Paul College Quezon City, Immaculate Conception Academy, Colegio de Sta. Rosa, San Beda College Alabang, Don Bosco Technical Institute, St. James College of Quezon City, Colegio de San Agustin, St. Stephen High School, Magis Academy, Philippine Cultural High School, Uno High School and St. James College of Paranaque. The Slime mobile’s last stop was at the Westfields International School in Pampanga.

As expected, NTOYS gave students an awesome, unforgettable experience. In fact, it brought along SpongeBob SquarePants’ giddy gladness to all the campuses invaded with its Bikini Bottom-themed games and segments. Students had fun forming crossword puzzles using only happy words at the “Happy Hub” and got a kick from challenging themselves to “repair the happy square,” playing SpongeBob SillyPants as they raced with SpongeBob’s pants on, balancing piles of krabby patties on a diner dash, and even in helping to fill up Mr. Krabs’ cash register by clawing as many Bikini Bottom coins as they could. They also learned how to karate-chop the way SpongeBob and Sandy do, and mastered their boating skills as they “sailed” across a very slimy lane.

All the game participants got certificates and giftpacks while winners, of course, got the cool-timate prize—slime!

Those who didn’t get to participate in the games still got their Nick on, winning knick-knacks from the sponsors’ activity booths and trying their luck at Nickelodeon’s game booths Rockstar, Yes You Are and Patrick’s Slingshot Bigshot. And of course, there was the most-awaited segment — Slime Time — where students got showered with glorious slime every time they answered a Nick trivia correctly. And because almost all the students got their hefty share of slime, they were given button pins that confirmed them “Certified Nickheads.”

As an added treat, SpongeBob SquarePants dropped by to be their classmate for the day!

NTOYS gave students and even teachers their toughest test ever — to make a whole lot of mess in the name of slime and good old Nickelodeon fun! Needless to say, they all passed with flying colors (in orange and green)!
