From Facebook to fun run
MANILA, Philippines - Supporters of Gilberto “Gibo” Teodoro have organized a fun run on Jan. 16, starting at 6 a.m., at the Bonifacio Global City in Taguig. For the first time, Gibo’s supporters from the social networking site Facebook’s Fan Page will meet each other in person. In a span of less than a month, volunteers from various sectors such as G-Squad, Green Team 2010, Youth for Gibo, G-Unit as well as high school friends of Gibo pooled their resources and managed to organize the event.
Miguel Celdran, volunteer and supporter of Gibo, says, “The walk is not a political rally but rather a venue to get together and pour our energies into something constructive and worthwhile.” The event’s theme is “Go for Green: Run for Change.” Green signifies growth, renewal, and the environment — all themes that are in sync with Gibo’s platform and close to the heart of the youth.
