80 carrozas join Cofradia's 30th Marian procession
MANILA, Philippines - Eighty carrozas bearing the different titles of the Blessed Virgin Mary will join the grand Marian procession on Dec. 6, at 4 p.m., in Intramuros, Manila.
Mounted by the Cofradia de la Inmaculada Concepcion on its 30th year, this year’s celebration of the feast of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception is being held in cooperation with the Intramuros Administration.
Hermanos Mayores 2009 are Aurora Eizmendi, Cofradia president; and businessman and cultural activist Danny Dolor.
The procession will feature the venerated images of Our Lady of Manaoag, Our Lady of Soledad de Porta Vaga from Cavite City, Our Lady of Piat from Cagayan Valley, Our Lady of La Salette of Silang, Cavite; Our Lady of La Naval, Our Lady of Guibang from Isabela, Nuestra Señora del Rosario from Rosario, Cavite; and Our Lady of Guadalupe, among others.
The schedule of activities includes the blessing of the new baptistry at the Sta. Ana Church on Dec. 2, 5:30 p.m., which was restored by the Cofradia.
Triduum of Masses will be held from Dec. 2 to 4 at 11:45 a.m., at the Manila Cathedral with Gaudencio Cardinal Rosales as main celebrant.
The First Communion of 500 public school children will take place on Dec. 5 at 10 a.m. They are from the Rosario Almario Elementary School in Del Pan, Tondo under the auspices of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage. Bishop Emeritus Teodoro Bacani is main celebrant.
