The typhoon season is thankfully about to end. The proximity of Christmas and Pacquiao’s win in Las Vegas has helped to ease the memories of Ondoy and Pepeng. We almost did not survive that one-two blow that nature heaped on us. The holidays and Pacman will not, however, make the problem of flooding disappear overnight. There are many who now need to think twice about where to build futures homes or invest in the real estate market.

The three factors that should determine this choice is still—location, location, and location. Thankfully there are new and continuing developments that provide a location free or well-protected from floods; a location guaranteed close to existing centers of business, schools, shopping malls and services; and finally a location that protects your investment in the short, medium and long term.
