In total accord
MANILA, Philippines - I confess I don’t apply lotion as often as I should. It’s a bit of a conundrum, really: my skin is terribly dry partly because of the heat yet I am loath to do something about it for the same reason. I find that a lot of the lotions in the market rest heavy on my skin and leave a greasy residue that’s so sticky that I fear I’ll attract flies. Nothing is more uncomfortable than stepping out in 35-degree heat with skin that feels as if it’s melting off you.
When I came across Vaseline’s Total Moisture Lotion, the words “non-greasy” and “fast-absorbing” called out to me. With nothing to lose and smooth, moisturized skin to gain, I purchased a small trial-size bottle. Soon as I got out of the bath the next morning, I applied the lotion all over. True enough, the lightweight formula absorbed into my skin in seconds. And it really delivered what many other lotions promise to do but don’t: silky-soft, smooth skin. And it’s got vitamin E as well, apart from soya, oat kernel protein, keratin, vitamin A, collagen amino acids and other minerals that all provide optimal moisture to the skin, assuring me that, in the long run, my skin will still look as if I’m in my 20s even if I’m not.
One more commendable thing about Vaseline’s Total Moisture lotion: it doesn’t reek of a bunch of flowers under the scorching heat. I am very sensitive to smell — overpowering scents trigger my migraine attacks — and this lotion’s clean, mild scent doesn’t have me huddling into a ball in a dark room in the middle of the day. (Sad, huh?) So smooth, healthy skin and migraine-free. I guess you can’t ask for much more from a lotion, can you? — Ana Kalaw
