A musical treat for Dad at SM Megamall

-

MANILA, Philippines – Celebrate Father’s Day with well-loved musicians Boy Katindig, the Kundirana singers and Raymond Lauchengco as they serenade Dad with music that he has grown up with at the SM Megamall.

Philippine born jazz pianist and international recording artist Boy Katindig will perform on Friday, June 19 at 6 p.m. at The Mega Atrium. Boy, who comes from a well-known clan of musicians — his father is a jazz legend Romy Katindig — pioneered Latin jazz in Manila. Currently a resident tour pianist/keyboardist for Peak Recording artist Paul Taylor, he will bring his cool music to the mall as he plays Unconditional Love, Your Eyes, Without Your Love, and Stompin’ in L.A.

La Salle’s Kundirana group will also pay tribute to dads as they perform on Father’s Day June 21 at 7:30 p.m. at The Mega Atrium. Formed in 1971 by Brother Rolly Dizon, FSC, Brother Mike Rapatan FSC, and Rose Balana, Kundirana was named after two Tagalog musical forms, the kundiman (love song) and teh harana (serenade). Composed of select, musically gifted, and talented third and fourth-year high school students., Kundirana has evolved over the years from a regular school choir to a more socially aware singing group that provideas joy and goodwill to the less fortunate through their music. Some of its past members have included Gary Valenciano, Ogie Alcasid and Dingdong Avanzado.

Raymond Lauchengco will be the special guest for that evening and will perform his classic hits that Dad loves — You To Me Are Everything, Everybody Wants To Rule The World, I Need You Back, Together in Electric Dreams, Just Got Lucky, Shadow of Time, and Wake Me Up Before You Go Go.

Celebrate Father’s day at SM Megamall.
