Summer workshops at Second Mom-Domuschola

MANILA, Philippines - The Second Mom-Domuschola summer workshops bring loads of fun and exciting activities for kids.

Each course is designed for specific age groups. Check out the list of activities and decide what’s best for your child.

• The Inquiry Camp. Open to baby campers (one to two years old), junior campers (two to three years old), and senior campers (four to six years old), the Inquiry Camp teaches participants concepts, knowledge, skills, and attitudes using an inquiry approach to learning language, mathematics, science, arts, music, dance, personal, social, and physical skills. The 10-session workshop starts on April 20 to May 13. Fee is P5,000.

• Galileo Math and English Enrichment Learning. Slated from April 21 to May 14, this workshop is designed for kids three to 12 years old. It consists of three major steps: assessment, adaptation, and advancement. Its international curricula in Math and English are suited for pre-school to grade six students. Fee is P1,700/subject per month (eight sessions). One-time registration fee of P350 is required.

• Buzan Mind Mapping for Kids. Open to children eight to 12 years old, the Buzan Mind Mapping for Kids will help kids organize ideas and notes, improve concentration and memory, review for exams, make better notes in class, and learn how to love learning. Fee is P8,577 for three sessions. Classes will be held on April 20, 22 and 24 from 8 a.m. to 12 noon.

• Voice and Diction Course. It aims to teach children under the Basic Group (four to six years old) conversational English and daily life expressions and vocabulary. The Advanced Group (seven to 10 years old), on the other hand, helps strengthen formal/standard English skills for elementary level and those who finished the basic course. Fee is P3,500 (five sessions).

• Taekwondo. This sport not only teaches kids self-defense but also discipline, modesty, self-confidence, and perseverance. Group A is for four to six years old, Group B is for seven to 10 years old, while Group C is for 11 years old and older. Classes start on April 21. Fee is P3,500 (10 sessions).

• Yoga. Yoga teaches children respect and the desire to take time for healing the body, mind and spirit for better coordination and improved self-confidence. Classes, which start on April 21, are divided into two groups: Group A (three to six years old), and Group B (seven to 11 years old). Fee is P3,500 (10 sessions).

• Basketball. Kids learn the basic techniques of shooting, passing, and dribbling the ball, as well as the players’ positions, and offensive and defensive structures. Sessions will be held at Brent gym in Valle Verde I, Pasig City. Fee is P4,000 (10 sessions).

Enrollment is ongoing. Slots are limited. A reservation fee of P1,000 is required. Second Mom-Domuschola is located at Dormitory I Philsports Complex (formerly ULTRA), Ugong Pasig, beside Brent Pasig.
