What's your health and wellness secret?
Donnie & Crickette Tantoco
Propelling our way through our day requires giving equal attention to three symbiotic areas of our life: mind, body, and soul. To prepare the mind for the busy and noisy day ahead, we spend time planning, organizing, and goal setting. By doing this first thing in the morning, we ensure that we are able to breeze through the day with our priorities firmly in mind. Reading the newspaper is also a daily habit, and a must to know what is going on in the world. We do not limit ourselves to just local broadsheets, we also scan international publications such as Herald Tribune, Wall Street Journal, and Economist.
For the body, a typical day begins with exercise. Donnie runs, while I do Pilates. Our exercises are followed by a heavy breakfast, which is usually comprised of rice, viand, fruits, and juice. We make sure that we drink lots of water and vitamins. However, recently we learned that we could actually kill two birds with one stone by drinking vitamin water.
Finally, at the end of our day, we do try to hear Mass or pass by the Blessed Sacrament to renew our souls. With our busy days, reconnecting with God on a daily basis is a sure way of getting through the daily grind with equanimity.

I jump rope. Because I’m growing a tummy, I do yoga — a couple of sun salutations — every day for less than 40 minutes before I take a shower. This is to elevate my heart rate, for stretching, and so that I don’t wake up with the nervous energy because yoga calms me.
I drink a liter of water every day, and more if I’m into strenuous activities. I always have a bottle of water in the car.
For spiritual well-being, I go to Mass every Sunday. I have a bible group every Wednesday.

I do Pilates twice a week. I like being active with my kids, too. I eat everything in moderation, but I always have veggies. I make sure I have home massage monthly, and I travel for vacation at least quarterly.

It’s pretty basic, I like to eat healthy, work out daily, and avoid stress. I use products I trust like Shu Uemura, L’Oreal, Keratase, Lancome. I put sun block daily. I get salon hair color every two months from Philippe, and I try to get at least five hours of sleep.

I eat wise, exercise, sleep well, and only think of positive things.
