Sony Ericsson Cyber-shot phones up for grabs in World View
It’s time to jump in to World View 2008 with your camera phones swinging. Sony Ericsson and the Philippine Star will soon give away seven K770i Cyber-shot phones to image category winners and favorite photos on World View.
World View 2008, the global camera phone photography competition held in cooperation with the Philippine Star, is ongoing until October 31. Enter The Philippine Star categories to get a Sony Ericsson K770i Cyber-shot phone with 3.2-megapixel camera, LED photo light, auto focus, Photo fix, and digital zoom. Plus, the top three images from the Philippines with the most votes will win this 14.5-mm thin slim design Cyber-shot phone. The four winners of The Philippine Star categories and the top three highest voted images will move on for global judging on October 31. World View will reward the international judges’ winner with a trip of a lifetime worth £10,000, while the world’s favorite shot, the people’s choice winner gets a trip worth £5,000.
The Philippine STAR image categories are an Eye for Beauty, My Town’s Best Kept Secret, Amazing Feats and My Mind’s Eye.
That beautiful close-up of birds on your window sill or your sister in costume for her first play could be entered in an Eye for Beauty. The category is open for images of people, places or events that define beauty. They could be rainbows, a school presentation, a baptism, landscapes or a day out with your grandparents. Show us what you think is beautiful.
A historical landmark in your town plaza, the rolling hills behind your ancestral house or street food simmering by the corner stall near your place. Submit these entries to My Town’s Best Kept Secret. Give us images of your fiesta, your regional traditions, your underground caves, grottoes and delicacies. Show us your town through your eyes with your camera phone.
The Amazing Feats image category is about amazing World View visitors. Send in entries of your jump shot on the basketball court or that high dive from the university competition. Dancing beetles caught on macro mode, the largest fish you’ve ever caught or the highest pyramid the pep squad has made.
Still life, architecture and perspective are the key things to the image category of My Mind’s Eye. Take shots from unusual vantage points. Think symmetry, proportion and design elements. Go low or go high picturing your home’s façade or the view from your window. Whether you see close up or from far away, the category showcases your vision of the subject.
