Skin break
March 11, 2007 | 12:00am
Last week, I had a mini-vacation. There’s absolutely nothing like Boracay during the low season. The water is free of nasty trash, no one is around to see that tire on your belly as you inhale insane quantities of chori burgers, and there’s no house music blaring. It gave me time to think of what I should also start doing this quarter.
By the time I got home, I had a basketful of ideas for YStyle, a great design slate for a summer project I’m working on, and even ideas for my new apartment that’s been challenging my creative juices.
Yes, there’s nothing like a working vacation. Being in paradise with nothing but you and your thoughts. It clears your mind, refocuses your energies, and you get a good tan while you’re at it.
In skincare it’s the same. Modern living has its conveniences such as the microwave or the ATM machine. With the stresses that come with modern living comes the inadvertent victim. Yes, we may see Dr. Feelgood for those panic attacks and ingest mutivitamins for the nutrients we lack from skipping one too many lunches.
Then there is our skin  the smooth and supple armor that holds our whole mess of a body together. Stress can cause skin to break out, dry out, flake, burst with oil or just give up and prune like a raisin. Aside from the usual delilahs, air conditioning , chemical peels, traveling, pollution and the like are also there to taunt the strength of your skin.
Before your skin gets a nervous breakdown, give it the three-week break it deserves with Estee Lauder Night Repair Concentrate Recovery Boosting Treatment. It’s literally a break for your skin and allows itself to repair from the craziness of modern living. It’s a booster that you use for 21 days to detoxify, moisturize and repair your skin. After that cycle, which is meant to be repeated three to four times a year, you can return to your usual nighttime routine, preferably with the Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair cream.
The concentrate is so dense that it is five times more powerful than the usual creams from this line. However, like every prolonged vacation, one runs the risk of losing touch with reality. This intense program is meant for a specific period only, so don’t be greedy. This treatment is for everyone who has been a bit cruel to their complexions. Which basically means 90 percent of us. Advanced Night Repair Concentrate shortens the recovery time from skin trauma. Laud the bifidus extract for giving the Night Repair system its power. Aside from repairing, it also calms skin from irritation and heals sun-burnt skin.
I have been using this magic potion for the past two weeks and I’m beyond impressed. It has inspired me to even take care of my skin as I am guilty of sleeping with makeup on. My skin, especially after that refreshing vacation, has unfortunately been parched by the sun. Plus my paranoia about the evil lights in the elevator of my apartment building has made me see gasp lines under my eyes and around my mouth.
The serum has made my skin smoother and radiant. The results are almost immediate. I’ll be quite sad when I have to stop using it next week.
So go ahead. Give your skin that vacation it so well deserves. No passport needed.
