How do you want to die?

WORDS WORTH - Mons Romulo -
This week’s question is one of the hardest ones I have ever had to ask because a lot of people refuse to answer it and think it’s too morbid to talk about death. Death is part of life, part of reality. It’s something we really should prepare for. The thought that death can knock at our door when we least expect it should make us appreciate our loved ones, be kinder to others, always remember to be thankful and make the most of each day that’s given to us.

ZANJOE MARUDO, actor:
I want to die knowing that I have fulfilled all my dreams.SEN NICHOLS, model/singer: With all the closest people in my life so when we enter the next realm the good times continue for eternity!

LILA ALMARIO, shoe designer:
I always say that I pray for a happy, sudden death. But it’s really not for us to know these things, so I don’t think about it. Only God knows and you just pray that when the time comes you are at peace with your loved ones and the people you’ve met and touched along the way in this journey called life.

ANNIE DELGADO RINGOR, managing director, Bridges@Com:
It would be nice to die looking pretty and happy. So if I were to be given a choice, my wish would be a quick and peaceful death (and, hopefully, not too soon).

TONI ABAD, managing partner, Latitude Multimedia Design Co. and PR consult, Jet Set magazine:
I pray to live till I see my grandchildren! Life is so precious and beautiful, especially when you know that you are loved by your family and friends. But when my time on earth is up, I’d want to die in my sleep just like how my grandmother died at the age of 96.

XENG ZULUETA, Shu Uemura makeup artist:
I’d like to die peacefully in my sleep. The last thing I want is a gory death.

MIKEE CARRION, model/actor:
I really don’t think about how I would like to die. I am very happy right now and there are so many things worth living for in this world. So the thought of how I would like to die doesn’t cross my mind

GARY LISING, comedian:
I would like to leap from a 50-story building because I like to jump to conclusion!

NORMAN CRISOLOGO, businessman:
When it does happen, I want it to be as close to heaven as possible – like Bora at sunset or in Pagudpud’s ocean drive in a fast car because I’m not entirely sure where I’m headed in the hereafter. A burnout, a swift sudden death would be lovely; but if it’s a selfish, long and painful death, then I should be surrounded by my family so we can say our goodbyes, so they can listen to my stories one last time, kiss me goodnight and then watch me sleep.
