Escada’s Rockin’ Rio: Summer in a bottle

EYE STYLE - Rissa M. Samson -
Think of sun-kissed Ipanema girls in sexy, colorful costumes, twirling, laughing, dancing to the music. Just like the tall and tan girl in the famous song.

Superimpose this image in your mind with romantic sunsets, fun parties at the beach, with hot rhythms.

Then listen to the rhythm of the samba, feel that salsa-hot beat. Feel the sultry warmth of the sun on the skin.

Get the picture? This is the scenario that inspired the creation of Escada’s new scent, Rockin’ Rio by Brian Rennie, Escada’s design director.

I tried a whiff of Escada’s Rockin’ Rio, and boy, did it rock and dance on the skin!

It blends the energetic feeling that comes with tropical flowers, juicy fruits and flirty femininity. The press kit describes it as "exuding the casual glamour of Copacabana . . . nights that stretch from Lido to Bara."

Closer to home, you might think of Boracay.

All such neon energy is captured on the box of Rockin’ Rio, with a sunburst flower of sequins in bright yellow and pink. On the other side, a hot pink image of a girl with wind-blown tresses.

The scent is fruity, floral and citrus, a blend of tangerine, pineapple, papaya, dama de noche, pinacolada, sugar cane, driftwood, musk and sandalwood.

Summer in a bottle.
