Is there such a thing as male intuition?

Ever heard of a woman’s intuition? I don’t know about you, but as far as I am concerned I am sure that men have this sense as well. There couldn’t be as many men who are successful in both politics and business if they did not follow their intuition when making some of their important decisions. I guess it’s safe to say that neither gender has a monopoly of intuition; it’s really just a matter of learning to listen to that small voice inside you, call it instinct or even gut feel. This must be the reason for Estee Lauder coming out with a new scent for men called Intuition. Indeed, men have a lot going for them that we girls don’t give them enough credit for. This week let’s hear what the men have to say about their intuition.
Ronnie Joseph, businessman: Yes, there is such a thing as male intuition. It is the way we perceive truths and facts about a person or situation which we develop through time and practice. But I prefer to call it discernment because it is absolute, fair and without error because God’s Word is the benchmark.
Anthony Pangilinan, businessman: I think by nature, a woman thinks faster on her feet (a man needs to incubate, process, study options, decide and evaluate) and is also a better judge of character. (My wife Maricel can sense a good yaya when she sees one; I need a background check, a short probing interview, credible referrals and three months of consistent mistakes to determine she ain’t fit!). But male wisdom and even instinct should be given more weight when a woman’s intuition is overcome by her emotions. I think there’s such a thing as male intuition. But only as an override (ika nga, back up) when a woman has switched off hers. Maricel says together we’re visioners. She envisions, I engineer!
Christopher De Leon, actor: Yes, there is. I go through the whole analytical process first then I look into myself and see if it feels right. If it does, I go for it.
Paolo Abad, vice president, E2door.com: It’s actually called gut feel. Though it’s a gut feeling, we don’t really use our feelings. We are rarely impulsive, rather we are more often analytical. We consider all factors before making a decision.
Dan Andrew Cura, COO, Far East Broadcasting: Intuition, well, I would say yes men have intuition if we define it as discernment or wisdom brought about by a well-read mind and lots of experience and exposure in his world and environment. Men have the ability to discern right from wrong, good from evil based on their own learning and getting burned. I feel that thinking on your feet and making quick decisions intuitively for most men who take risks in their business or the family life could be considered intuition. Then again, an intuitive man should know when to defer to a woman’s intuition if he knows what’s good for him.
Mari Kaimo, news anchor: Yes, I think so. Though men probably aren’t as sensitive to their intuition as women are because, for the most part, we depend on logic and prefer to rationalize rather than rely on our feelings or hunches. We generally don’t use our hearts at work. And we generally don’t need to use intuition much anyway. So, since our intuition isn’t used very often, I guest it gets rusty.
Armando Goyena, actor: Reasons why I say men have intuition just like women is because God created Adam and Eve equally. In the province, men have intuition about anything and if it happens they say they knew it all along. The only thing that women can do that men can’t is give birth.
