On lost loves & women in love

- Tingting Cojuangco -
Here I go on women again.

If understanding and communicating with women is an enigma, one facet of a woman is without a doubt her capacity to give love. Women are gifted with an inexhaustible amount of love and more importantly the ability to give it without fear. Women in love are the best human beings on the planet. So, it does not come as a surprise that their reaction to lost love can be violent. After all, most women love and nurture with all that they are – be it in their work, with their friends, family, mate. Women are prepared to offer all of themselves.

Since women wear different hats in their lives, they have the natural ability to share love with different people in many ways. A woman’s love for her work brings determination and dedication. This makes her highly reliable. Women are viable competitors coupled with the resolve to survive in a man’s world. Lady Margaret Thatcher once said, "If you want something said, ask a man. If you want something done, ask a woman." I don’t say that women are superior to men but that most women try their best all the time. We don’t only use our heads when we move ahead in life, but we use our hearts, too. This makes women more intense and passionate about anything they set out to do in their work.

As friends, women serve as great support systems both to family and friends. They are great at empathizing and because of their intuition know how to show compassion. This is why whenever there’s a need for a shoulder to cry on or for sound advice, you should turn to a woman unless you want a man’s point of view.

Yet, it is in the home front that women shine best. Here, demonstrating the virtue of selflessness, Irish novelist Roddy Doyle, underlined the importance of a woman’s familial love and resolve, "From my experience and observation, if a family is held together in different circumstances, nine times out of ten it’s the woman who’s doing it...You’ll find women in their late thirties who look 50, and their husbands of the same age who look 28 or 29 – like the eldest sons. Because, in many ways, they are the eldest sons."

Women can be street-smart in wisdom and judiciousness. A woman’s instinct to protect is strong, it’s their innate quality for motherhood. Women will run to the defense of their friends, no matter what. We are fierce defenders. While we secretly won’t tolerate any wrongdoing, we will find some loopholes to justify our friend’s actions. Loyalty is how we prove our support for friends.

Love is a woman’s specialty. A woman in love is easy to spot. She looks positively happy. Blooming and blind to her mate’s mistakes and deaf to negative feedback she might get. She can become a picture of a person who has decided to bravely invest in her emotions throwing all caution to the wind.

The time she puts into a relationship is immeasurable. Her mate is her top priority. All else including her own well-being take second place. The man on the receiving end of this love is a lucky one. But because women express their love for their mates through the virtue of faithfulness and honesty, the legendary scorned woman’s temper is hot, hot, hot when their mates go astray. And when this happens and she’s forsaken, you don’t want to get caught in her way.

The woman is undaunted in giving out love. As a wife, a daughter or a sister, she makes it her mission to bind the family together no matter how because she knows best!! And she’ll do it with little ripples or tidal waves, no matter what it takes.

How about unconditional love? "I give to you my unconditional love," so says a suitor to his prospective girl. Is this commitment possible? I don’t think one should be too quick to reassure a woman of that, even if she believe it exists. It will do her good to give him a smile of suspicion and accept the best and expect the worse.

Perhaps the purest and greatest love of all is the love she gives her children, a relationship hard to equal. Aren’t the not so good-looking children referred to as having "a face only a mother could love." To mothers, there’s only one perfect child in the world and that child happens to be the one she bore. She also knows a mother’s touch can heal, her voice soothe and she posseses a desire to cuddle her children all the time if only they’d let her.

Women in love take incredible risks. And that’s probably where the trouble lies. Loving too much and putting too much value on commitment, a woman’s love in the end makes her extremely vulnerable to pain, sometimes even to revenge. I hope God sends His blessings to any man who tries to cross her.
