Opening Night Jitters

LIVING ALIVE - LIVING ALIVE By Dero Pedero -
The premiere presentation of my first seminar entitled "Make Your Impossible Dreams Come True" rolled off to a great start last Saturday. The venue was the roof deck of the IPI Buendia Tower on Sen. Gil Puyat Avenue (Buendia), two blocks from the Taft LRT station. Being on the top floor of the building, the deck has a magnificent view of Metro Manila at night when the city sparkles with infinite clusters of lights that twinkle like a million diamonds below.

I chose this venue because it gives you a "penthouse moment" or what Millennium guru Iyanla Vanzant calls "an exhilarating high that makes you feel like you are on top of the world, that you are capable of doing almost anything." It is especially beneficial and empowering for people who feel like they’ve been having nothing but "basement moments" lately. And the wind up there is strong, bracing and fresh.

Another reason I chose the venue is that the room where I held the seminar is small and cozy. I prefer talking to a small group; rapport is easier to build because of the closeness, the intimacy. We can question and search for answers together, and marvel at the little revelations that come our way as a close, tightly bonded unit.
Expecting A First-Born
Like a performer at a premiere show, I had my share of opening night jitters. Like a parent expecting a first-born, I had my own pre-delivery apprehensions. For isn’t a piece of work, whether a song, a play or ballet, a sermon or a sales presentation, conceived just like a baby? There is a period of conception, gestation, and anticipation that peaks on the opening night or delivery moment.

But the whole show was pretty much set. I knew my material well enough that I could recite it without difficulty even if Jennifer Lopez were sashaying and grinding right in front of me.

What a motley, enthusiastic crowd we had! There were business people, entrepreneurs, writers, showbiz folks, mothers, college students, sales persons, computer enthusiasts, artists, a gentleman farmer, a physics professor, a Korean businessman, even a little boy of ten! It was a bright-eyed bunch eager to learn and absorb.
First Of Its Kind
Make Your Impossible Dreams Come True" is the first and only success seminar of its kind in the Philippines and possibly the world. It employs computer and video technology to present ideas and concepts that are mind changing, life enhancing. This seminar will change the way you look at seminars forever! Gone are the days of boring professorial blurb that puts you to sleep. It is a fast-paced audio-visual treat with no idle, boring moments. I believe that when people are kept entertained and alert, they learn better, faster.

In this dynamic four and a half-hour seminar you will learn the 12 Failure Anchors that keep you from being successful, the 9 Secret Universal Principles that you can use to achieve your impossible dreams, the 5 powerful Dream Achievement Techniques including Creative Visualization and Emotioimagineering, Man’s 12 Ultimate Goals in Life, Pedero’s 3 formulas for guaranteed success, plus many more effective success tips and proven techniques. I did all the work and the research, and collated them all into one sweet, neat package; all you have to do is sit and listen!
An Angel In The Audience
Unbeknown to me, there was an angel among the participants of the first seminar. She called me the next day and scheduled a meeting to talk about how she can help with the upcoming repeats. When we met, I remembered her as the quiet, nodding, smiling lady who did not call any undue attention to herself during the session.

She told me how elated and empowered she felt after attending the course and that great effort must be taken to make more people come and learn all the success techniques I teach in the seminar.

"Unfortunately," she said, "these are not the best of economic times. You will have to lower your enrolment rates."

My natural reaction was to justify to her that good things don’t come cheap. I started to assemble in my mind all the reasons why it is such an expensive seminar. The production is expensive. Just the computer programming alone took a long time and a big chunk of the budget. Then there’s the venue to pay for, the sound system, video and computer projection rentals, technicians’ fees, janitorial fees, secretarial and printing fees, and the food bill (dinner comes with the session; in American seminars they don’t even give you water!). I was about to open my mouth but her enthusiasm calmed me down.

She said, "Schedule four sessions and I shall take care of your basic expenses. Simplify the food preparations by downsizing the present menu from six courses to three. People don’t come for the food, they come for what they can learn and apply in their lives."

I was dumbfounded and puzzled as to whether the lady was for real or just another character with attention deficit syndrome. But she was for real. And a real angel, too! And like a true angel, she demanded that her name not be mentioned at all. I became misty-eyed realizing that people like her still exist.
Great News!
So, thanks to our "dream angel," we have a new, more affordable enrolment fee of P1,800 (it used to be P2,800). The amount P1,800 can’t even buy you half a pair of designer shoes yet what you will learn from this seminar will stay as powerful life tools in your mind for as long as you live! A light dinner will still be served and you will also get a delightful certificate of attendance after the session.

Upcoming seminars are scheduled on May 22 (Wed), May 23 (Thu), May 29 (Wed) and May 30 (Thu), all courtesy of our dream angel! This is how it will work: as long as there are at least 15 enrollees, the seminar will push through. If not, those registered for that day will be merged with the next scheduled class. E-mail deroseminar@yahoo.com for inquiries text or call Dinna at 0920-4053233 (Smart) for seat availability and other details. Enrolment will be on a first-come, first-served basis at Buendia Towers Roof Deck, Buendia Avenue across Houseware Square, Tuesdays to Fridays from 2-6 pm. Look for Cecile Ascalon.
