Edouard Miailhe and his wife Sevrine surprised Edouards father William-Alain with an intimate and fun birthday bash for the latters 70th birthday. The couple thoughtfully gathered some of William-Alains Harvard colleagues who knew his parents Edward and Lotty well. Edward and Lotty were members of Frances Wine and Food Society. Other guests at the party were friends of William-Alains who shared his deep interest in the history and culture of the Philippines.
Naturally, Brigitte, William-Alains wife of 35 years, took a break from running the Chateau Siran at Margaux near Bordeaux to take part in the fabulous feast. Brigitte had some sumptuous vintage of her claret shipped especially for the evening, plus the fantastic and very rare dessert wine Chateau dYquem 1982.
Edouard and Sevrine entrusted young chef Rolando Laudico to prepare an imaginative menu that would match the mature and delicious wines of Siran. Guests went home most satisfied.
Advanced birthday greetings to Arsenic Laurel, Rañing Bautista and Suzie Moya-Benitez, April 1; Steve Cu-Unjieng, Cynthia Cu-Unjieng Buñag, Doña Carmen Ortigas, former US Consul General Kevin Herbert and OB Montessoris Dr. Preciosa Soliven, April 2; Sari-Saris Aleth Ocampo-Mapa, April 4; Nerissa Carbonel Berba and beauty queen Gloria Diaz, April 5; Angela Lopez, April 6.
