Special friends, special lovers

"Love is the law of life." Jo Petty
Sometime ago your columnist attended the wedding of Raymond Bernard, the son of my two good friends, Ramon and Corinna Mojica. The good-looking Raymond tied the knot with the lovely Margarita Beatrice "Tricie" Legarda, the daughter of doctors Alejandro Legarda Jr. and Margarita Rehrig.
Raymond and Tricie met over a decade ago when they were Business majors at De La Salle University. Raymond became a hardworking businessman, Tricie a retail and consignment manager for imported mens apparel brands. The two were content with their "special friendship" (whatever that means to young people these days) until early 2000 when Raymond felt that a decade of "friendship" was enough. It was, he decided, time to settle down.
The couple exchanged vows at the imposing and gothic Basilica of San Sebastian with Fr. Arnold Boehme officiating the Nuptial Mass.
Tricie was resplendent in a beaded Randy Ortiz gown. Her bridesmaids, led by Suzette Montinola and Tisha San Agustin, were equally pretty in lavender, gold and green gowns.
The principal sponsors were Lauro Amante (whose son and namesake was the best man); lawyer Eduardo Hernandez; Manuel Montinola; Dr. Agapito Tuason; lawyer Francisco Villaraza; Lourdes Cruz; Dr. Ma. Rosario Legarda; Carmencita Hernandez-Maack; Merle Villacorta; and Dr. Sylvia Wenceslao.
Cocktails followed at the garden poolside of the Westin Philippine Plaza. The eye-catching cake was created by Peachy Juban. Each long white table looked fit for nobility, with blue glassware, candles and flamboyant flower arrangements by Robert Blancaflor for 1816 Flowers Co.
Raymond and Tricie are still deciding whether to move to the US (Raymond is an American citizen). In the meantime, Ramon and Corinna are happy and hopeful that they will become grandparents in the near future. Now that would be another milestone to look forward to!
Advanced birthday greetings to talented singer and businessman Jose Mari Chan, STAR Mode artist Arnold San Antonio, Vera Isberto and Makati Medical Hospitals Dr. Remedios Suntay, March 11; Mila Manapat, March 13; publicist Rudy Fuentes and Sen. Gringo Honasan, March 14; former Makati Councilor Bong Daza and Malou Rodriguez, March 15; Abe Florendo and talented musician John Lesaca, March 16.
Happy wedding anniversary to Michigan-based Dennis and Carla Daclison (neé Guillermo). May you have many more years of wedded bliss.
So, how was your week?
