A fitting finale for a wonderful journey

Johnnie Walker Black Label, described by connoisseur Jim Murray as the "Savoy" and "Everest" of premier whiskies, has successfully held a series of mentor dinners in premier venues throughout the year. The Johnnie Walker Black Labels Journey of Taste was a tribute to accomplished figures in diverse fields.
Hemisphere-Leo Burnetts Abel Dolatre, MS2 Marketings president Mike O Connor and his wife Marilyn, the team which organized successful mentor dinners, pulled off the finale at the Tower Clubs sumptuously appointed Murano Room, one of the Clubs posh function rooms.
The elegant affair was graced by eminent business leaders Jose Cuisia Jr., former Central Bank Governor and current president/CEO of the Phil American Life and General Insurance Co.; Raul Concepcion, chairman of Concepcion Industries, Inc.; Ricardo Romulo, senior partner at the Romulo, Mabanta, Buenaventura and De los Angeles; Joost Vink, president of Philam Insurance Co. and his wife Karen.
Joining them were Swiss Ambassador Werner Baumann and his wife, Susana; Jesus Villa, former president of All Asia Capital; Antonio Tambunting Jr., TFS, Inc. chairman/CEO; Chuck Janolino, marketing director of International Distillers Phils. Inc.; Ramon del Rosario, Tower Club founding board of governor, who came with his wife Marivic; Menchu Concepcion; and Rae Carino, Human Resource director of International Distillers Phils. Inc.
A delectable course prepared by the Tower Clubs Continental restaurant prefaced the evening. After the delightful dinner, Brand Ambassador Alan Charles Atkins led the select invitees through a virtual Scottish tour. He explained the distinct elements that make up the incomparable Johnnie Walker Black Label taste through an enjoyable audio-visual presentation and whisky appreciation.
Five fluted glasses were set before each guest to allow them to sample and savor the top four from among 40 single-malt whiskies, each of which is at least 12 years old. These are then blended to produce the distinct Johnnie Walker Black Label taste many all over the world have come to enjoy.
As the evening ended, Atkins raised his glass and gave that ancient Scottish toast which means "good health," Slann Gee Vaar!
Happy birthday to our celebrators today: Sharon Cuneta-Pangilinan and Cesar Gaupo.
Advanced birthday greetings to Dishs Tess Litton, Rose Teodoro, Celadons Thelina Nuval, Enrique Zobel, Apa Ongpin and Tootsie Eduque-Marco, Jan. 7; Dr. Jaime Laya and Benjamin Yap, Jan. 8; Paz Tanjangco, Jan. 11; Jayelles Holdings (Phils.) Inc. vice president Allan Litton, Jan. 12.
