A super silver anniversary

"Let my reputation speak of me, not I." Jean-Paul Sarte
The Century Park Hotel recently celebrated 25 years of being the premier hotel in the metro bay area. During the event, the hotel also honored its top 29 accounts and nine Loyalty Awardees who have been part of the hotels success.
Held at the Grand Ballroom, the Silver Anniversary celebration, as expected, took place in the Centurys inimitable and grand style.
Bobby Carpio, the dapper and super efficient Century Park general manager and the man who propelled the hotel to new heights, led the terrific management team in the festive bash.
No less than the low key executive vice president Julio Tan; Maranaw Hotel and Resorts Inc. vice president and treasurer Goro Kadowaki; and affable sales manager Angel Suntay led a special program where they awarded beautifully crafted silver trophies to the hotels top accounts and its loyalty awardees. Along with Angel, your columnist was invited to host the truly superb celebration.
Among the esteemed figures who graced the much-awaited grand affair were business tycoon and staunch economic pillar Dr. Lucio Tan; Manila Vice Mayor Danny Lacuna; Philippine Airlines president Avelino Zapanta; and US Consul General John Caulfield.
It was also a reunion of sorts for past GMs Peter Stevens (who served the hotel for eight and a half years) and Helmut Gaisberger (who served for two months) paid tribute to the Century Park Hotels enduring reputation as one of the metros best.
The large turn-out of guests welcomed by statuesque Bodyshots models was ushered to the Grand Ballroom. The ballroom was transformed into a spectacular venue awash in silvery colors and flowers. The Century String Ensemble played soaring classical pieces. Everyone enjoyed crisp wines and cocktails, and exquisite specials from satellite food bars were positioned throughout the venue.
The affair was made even more delightful with performances by the Century Park Choir, the Front Office staff, Food and Beverage Group and the Sales and Marketing Staff Dance Group.
The evening peaked as everyone took to the dance floor as confetti and silver and white balloons fell from the ceiling.
To Julio Tan, Bobby Carpio, Steve Naguiat and the Centurys indefatigable management team, well done, guys!
Greetings
