MANILA, Philippines — Michael Cinco is ready for a face-off with Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Prada and other luxury fashion brands in Greenbelt, Makati City, as the Dubai-based Filipino designer’s business partner announced to Philstar.com the brand’s plan to open a “big” luxury boutique “in Greenbelt area.”

“Soon, we’ll have Michael Cinco, Philippines!” Dr. Sayed Ali, Managing Director of the Michael Cinco brand, told Philstar.com in an exclusive interview following Michael’s presentation of his new collection at the first-ever Metaverse Fashion Gala last Monday in Marriott Grand Ballroom in Pasay City.

The new store in the Philippines, the first bearing Michael’s name, will be opened “somewhere in Greenbelt before the year ends,” announced Ali.

Just like in the fashion show, the store will carry the ready-to-wear, bridal, evening wear, men’s and women’s wear, handbags, jewelry, and of course, signature eyeglasses, of the Michael Cinco brand’s Creative Director.

When asked how big the boutique will be, Ali declared: “Big, of course! Michael Cinco is big!”

When asked what makes the brand standout in the luxury goods market, Ali said: “The details and the quality of his work and his looks,” referring to Cinco’s iconic self-branding with big and bold eyewear.

Cinco first introduced his pret-a-porter line in the Philippines via the boutique Couturissimo at the ground floor of Greenbelt 5 in Makati City last 2018.
