Cool girl Cara rocks Penshoppe
There’s no use arguing over it: Cara Delevingne is one of the coolest girls in the world. Blame it on Murphy’s Law, science, or sheer luck, but the British supermodel has managed to become the chick every girl wants to be. And most especially, the kind that every girl aspires to dress like. (Sadly, very few people have her legs, but we try.)
It’s why social media had a complete breakdown when the 22-year-old model posted an Instagram photo of herself in what she tagged as a Penshoppe T-shirt. The global fast fashion brand kept mum about it until now, when it finally revealed the runway sensation as their newest brand ambassador.
“We didn’t tell the designers who it was for when we were coming up with the collection,” says Penshoppe brand director Jeff Bascon of the initial secrecy behind their latest coup. “I just said, ‘Think of a cool girl.’ And they all said, ‘Like Cara?’ I then realized we were on the same wavelength.”
The Penshoppe x Cara Delevingne Holiday Campaign features looks that reflect the supermodel’s edgy sense of style. Sportswear separates such as comfy track pants and knit sweaters go well with the collection’s dressier pieces. According to the Penshoppe team, Cara especially loved the striped bandeau with the faux leather jacket and ripped boyfriend jeans.
The London-born model began her modeling career as a teenager and soon became one of the most sought-after faces in the fashion world. Her trademark eyebrows—dark and bushy—are arguably of the most coveted looks today; paired with her quirky sartorial sense, Cara’s definitely become a contemporary style icon.
Thankfully, the Penshoppe team expects the Cara collection to be released in its local and international branches soon. For now it will enjoy a limited release from October 15 in key Penshoppe stores, where fashion fans will surely flock to. After all, who would want to pass up a chance to look as cool as Cara?
