Cause and Affect
MANILA, Philippines - In time for the holidays, here’s a round-up of events and happenings all mounted for a good cause. Treat yourself and your loved ones. On top of that, you get to help out our Yolanda-stricken brothers and sisters.
Cook Out to Help Out
Calling all foodies and comfort food junkies! A food campaign will be set up today until December 1 at the Power Plant Mall’s Plaza Drive to help rebuild Visayas. For only P200, get a set of burger, fries, and drink during a cookout that will feature popular cooks, chefs, and celeb foodies. One hundred percent of the proceeds will go to the rehabilitation of communities struck by Typhoon Yolanda through Habitat for Humanity. Tickets are now available at Elbert’s Cheesesteak Sandwiches, Bacchus Epicerie, and the Rockwell Retail Office at Power Plant Mall. Tickets will also be sold at the gate during the event.
Because It’s Christmas
Set to stage a magical night of entertainment with live band music and stand-up comedy acts by three of the country’s most popular acts, the holiday benefit concert will turn over its proceeds to the chronically ill children of Kythe Foundation and their families affected by Typhoon Yolanda. The event will take place on December 6 at the Samsung Hall of SM Aura, and will feature performances from Highway 54, Moymoy Palaboy, and The Bloomfields with special guest appearances by Saab and Maxene Magalona. Plus, Kythe’s talented wards will have a special performance as well. For more information, call SM Tickets at 470-2222.
