F&C (Florete and Caperonce) Jewelry was established in 1973 by the couple Marcelino M. Florete Jr. and Susan Caperonce-Florete. Jewelry making is a long-standing family tradition: Susan’s mother, who hails from Bulacan, is a known jeweler in Iloilo. Marcelino Jr. is the CEO and president of the F&C Group; Susan is involved in production. Their children are also a vital part of the family business. Eldest daughter Marissa Florete-Gorriceta, who studied at the Gemological Institute of America with diplomas in Diamond Grading and Jewelry Design, is in charge of marketing and merchandising, while Marjorie Florete is head of personnel and is also a graduate gemologist of the Gemological Institute of America. Marcelino III handles finance, and youngest daughter Mary Christine is pursuing her studies in law.
