Kangol & Tretorn: From head to toe
MANILA, Philippines - Jeffrey Rogador, one of the country’s top designers in men’s clothing, showed a 60-piece collection called “Portraits of Peasants,” during Philippine Fashion Week. His collection was a cross between chic urban and casual sportswear, and was inspired by a painting of a man in peasant garb by Paul Cezanne.
Rogador’s collection was completed with Kangol hats, which have long been regarded as the best head accessories since the brand’s birth in England in 1936, as conceptualized by Jacques Spreiregen. Kangol has been worn by royalty, rock stars, and rebels. With quite a history under its belt, it was truly the best accessory choice for Jeffrey Rogador’s contemporary, casual, yet very fashionable take on the typical peasant attire. All Kangol pieces are made from angora and wool — materials that complement the finery that Rogador brought to the stage.
Making his third appearance in the prestigious fashion gala, on the other hand, was Ziggy Savella, who showed hues soothing to the tasteful and critical eye. Savella’s use of earth tones. calm blues and purples made for a perfectly blended collection exuding comfort and cool.
Compeleting the clean, minimalist look of Savella’s collection are pairs from top rubber shoe manufacturer Tretorn, known for its understated yet stylish look. Spotted on the runway were the Krona Linen and Smögen Suede, Tretorn’s take on the classic boat shoe.
Proving true to its concept of design, Tretorn was also the perfect partner for Savella’s fashionable yet very practical and wearable pieces. The Skymra Canvas, a street sneaker with striking details, matched Savella’s muted tones perfectly. Tretorn’s Strala Sommar, a slip-on rubber ankle boot, was another one of Savella’s picks.
