MANILA, Philippines — After adopting several cats, a business executive found himself inspired to partner with other pet owners, leading them to start a pet-centered business together.

Julius Ladica, head of digital marketing and importations at United Baarde Inc. shared during a cat food brand launch how his home became a sanctuary for 19 cats.

The executive shared he used to be allergic to cats. However now, Ladica quips are now bosses of the house.

Ladica said it all started during the pandemic when cats kept approaching him, talking to them and feeding them as a way to destress, eventually falling in love with felines.

"Once you start taking care of them, kapag nakakakita ka diyan sa labas talagang maaawa ka na, eh," Ladica pointed out.

He ended by affirming the thoughts of pet owners whose hearts go out to any animals who are mistreated.
