Celebrate World Animal Day today at MOA
MANILA, Philippines - Join the Philippine Animal Welfare Society as it celebrates World Animal Day 2012 with a back-to-back event this weekend.
A six-legged walkathon for pet and huma kicks off at 6:30 a.m. today at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall followed by a “K9 Kinetics Agility Demo” by BetterDog at 3:30 p.m. Theer will also be a fashion launch of the “JusTees for PAWS” advocacy shirts by SM Kids Fashion at 4:30 p.m.
Jam with the biggest artists in “Voices for the Voiceless,” a special concert for the animals featuring performances by Vina Morales, Freestyle, Jay Durias, Aliya Parcs, Morisette, Regine Tolentino and other surprise guests.
There will be free pet grooming booths and vet consultation by Pet Express, an art contest, the “SM MOA Pet Superstar” photo exhibit and animal-themed activity booths by the Nido Science Discovery Center, Earth Island Institute and The Wild Bird Club of the Philippines.

Pet blessing at Eastwood City on Oct. 7
It’s another big day for you and your fur babies on Oct. 7, Sunday, as PAWS, in cooperation with Eastwood City, commemorates the feast of St. Francis of Assisi, patron saint of animals.
Take your pets to be blessed at PAWS’ grand “Pet Blessing” at the Eastwood Open Park. Register early for your pet pass and get special gifts from Pet One and Frontline Plus.
The special procession of the statue of St. Francis around Eastwood begins at 4 p.m. followed by the Mass and blessing of the animals at 5 p.m.
