The day the dogs ran at SM MOA
MANILA, Philippines - Over 500 dogs and 650 pet lovers recently gathered together to run for health, fitness, fun, and pet bonding at the Pet Express Doggie Run 2011 at SM Mall of Asia.
After the runaway success of its first major dog run in the country last year, Pet Express once again brought dog lovers and fitness enthusiasts together to run the distance in the 1.5km, 3km, and 5km categories.
Participants also raced for a cause as they helped support the Strike Animal Welfare Society (SAWS), an organization dedicated to make the city of Bacoor an environmental and pet-friendly zone. The group’s animal shelter also serves as the forefront rescue center in Cavite.
Canine behaviorist from ABC 4 Dogs Fred Alimusa shared tips on how pet owners can efficiently train their dogs. Participants also marveled at the fun fur-stival booths on the sides, and snapped up memories at the souvenir booth. Fun raffle prizes were also given away to lucky winners.
The Doggie Run 2011 is a project of Pet Express with the support of Holistic Recipe, Pedigree, Beef Meal, Espree, Meaty Stix, Kong Toys, Ezydog, Wahl, Virbac, Nutri-plus Gel, Frontline, Royal Canin, Bayer Advocate, and Happy Haus Donuts.
