MANILA, Philippines — The owner of Takoyaki store Taragis admitted that the viral April Fools' Day tattoo disaster was scripted.

In the store's Facebook page, Carl Quion said that the April Fools' Day post and the man who tattooed the store's logo on his forehead were just a marketing strategy and it succeeded.

Carl said the strategy was conceptualized last August 2023 when he asked a tattoo artist to find someone who is willing to get his forehead inked. Fishball vendor Ramil Albano took the challenge.

The owner, however, said that the cash deal was real.
