Tricycle drivers in Quezon City to expand services to food delivery

The Quezon City government partnered with app-based food delivery service Foodpanda for "PandaToda," a program to provide hundreds of tricycle drivers an additional source of income.

Mayor Joy Belmonte and Daniel Marogy, managing director of Foodpanda Philippines Inc. led the launching of the program that will help and support not only the drivers but also their families who lost their means of livelihood during the lockdown since mid-March.

PandaToda will recruit and train Quezon City tricycle drivers to become Foodpanda partner riders.

The drivers will be equipped to receive orders from food establishments and deliver them to homes and workplaces.

Part of the program so far are drivers residing in Quezon City, Manila City and Pasig City, all currently under a modified enhanced community quarantine which limits the movement of people and vehicles in the capital region.
