Vivienne Tam's HP Mini Note now in Manila
The more high-tech the world gets, the more it influences our fashion choices — well, mine anyway.
My handbag staples currently include the following gadgets: a cellphone, an iPod Touch, miniature speakers and earphone, a portable charger and several adapters.
The more gadgets I depend upon, the bigger the bag gets. I’ve been dreaming of a small laptop to take around and one day that handbag will get bigger.
It seems like I’m not the only thinking of a more portable laptop. Hewlett-Packard is one company that believes in the emerging ultra-mobile PC market, coming out with more new models following the success of the HP Mini Note.
At New York Fashion Week early this year, HP launched their collaboration with designer Vivienne Tam at her runway show. It’s the first time an IT company has teamed up with a top fashion designer to come up with a beautiful red laptop based on one of Tam’s prints.
As part of HP’s philosophy, the Vivienne Tam Mini Note reflects the company’s sensibility of combining style and sleekness without sacrificing functionality.
After launching in different parts of the world, HP finally introduced their latest to the Philippine market in an intimate gathering at the M Café. As part of their marketing strategy, HP invited conventional media along with the country’s most popular bloggers to experience the stylish laptop.
The launch was a huge success, with 250 units sold out within a week. With a price tag of P27,950, a 10.9-inch screen and a weight of less than kilograms, the mini laptops were not surprisingly snapped up mostly by women or men buying them as gifts.
