Bobby Joseph turns 69
Adhering to the Chinese custom of not celebrating birthdays that end with zero, Bobby Joseph chose to celebrate his 69th birthday in Cebu, which he fondly calls his second home.
A fortnight ago, Bobby with his family, supportive wife Ida, and daughters Rea and Riza invited friends to an intimate gathering at the Glass House of Montebello Villa Hotel to celebrate a lifetime of blessings and successes.

The evening began with testimonials and anecdotes from family and friends who showed a side of Bobby not everyone knew. They spoke of his unrelenting courage to face pain without fear, of doing the right thing even though oftentimes easier options exist. They marveled at how Bobby always puts other people’s needs ahead of his own, his unconditional support for the underprivileged, and his passion for tourism promotions and development.
The celebrant, battling stage four cancer for many years, then went onstage to thank invitees for their sincere friendship, warm hospitality, unconditional love, care and support.

Extending their greetings were members of the diplomatic corps, NITAS or Network of Independent Travel Agencies which Bobby founded, as well as government officials and media.
The evening was made extra joyous and special with a young, energetic singers, the Santa Maria Sunrise Village Choir, singing Christmas Carols filled with happiness, sharing and love. It was an evening of positive energies and inspiration.

Guests were treated to a sumptuous menu and the very best wines from the family-owned Ralph’s Wines and Spirits.
Much too soon, the happy occasion came to an end but not without the much-loved celebrant blowing out the candles with the help of his grandchildren Gavin, Nate and Cole, and thanking everyone for being a part of his incredible life journey.
