Celebrating Los Cafeteros
The recently opened Embassy of Colombia in the Philippines commemorated the 208th anniversary of the Independence Day of Colombia. Held at the Manila Polo Club in Makati City and hosted by the Ambassador of Colombia Victor Hugo Echeverri alongside his loving wife Patricia López, the celebration was attended by various members of the diplomatic and consular corps, government officials, and other VIPs from the business sector. Colombian citizens present during the event joined together to sing their national anthem and to partake in the traditional toast. The guests enjoyed the best of Colombian and Filipino cuisine, but the main attraction was a performance by the Swing Latino, a renowned Colombian salsa group, which was made possible by a cultural diplomacy program fund set up by the Colombian government to promote its culture worldwide. It was a wonderful celebration of the intercultural exchange and the friendly ties between Colombia and the Philippines.

Attended by the celebrator’s dear friends from showbiz, politics, and who’s who of society, it was a delightful evening of catching up among companions.
