Radisson Blu Hotel lights up for Christmas
The 45-foot, artistically designed Christmas tree exuded a beautiful blue glimmer as the ladies of style stood in awe in their long gowns at the lobby of Radisson Blue Hotel. The lobby was bathed in several shades of blue in celebration of the fifth anniversary of the Radisson Blu Hotel Cebu. The event was marked with a blue sapphire gala dinner and concert at the Santa Maria Ballroom.
The lighting of the Christmas tree at the lobby was done by gracious host Elizabeth Sy, president of SM Hotels and Conventions Corporation; Andre de Jong, vice president–operations Southeast Asia and the Pacific of the management company the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group; and the property general manager Nishan Silva as well as guests led by Cebu Vice Governor Agnes Magpale and Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama.
The formal dinner was coordinated by the hotel’s executive chef Roberto Kunitz in collaboration with resident chefs, namely, Chinese chef Aik Liang Tan, Indian chef Hira Tiwan and Filipinos Gerry de Guia and Alan Barrios who crafted dishes from their countries of origin.
Seventeen-year-old saxophone virtuoso Joshua Espinosa serenaded the guests.
Philippine premier soprano Rachel Gerodias and German-trained Korean baritone Byeong-in Park led the talented crop of performers that included ballet dancers Regina Magbitang and Peter San Juan, the Mandaue Children’s Choir and the Cebu Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of professors Joel Cruz and Marc Mercado.
A parade of creations by Cebu’s fashion designers Philip Rodriguez, Jun Escario and Phillip Tampu capped the evening of excellent food, superb wine, impeccable dining service, and enjoyable entertainment.
