Soluna’s versatile lifestyle suits the dynamic Filipino family

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Filipino families grow not only in terms of size but also individually. Each with their own unique personalities, family members would usually go on to pursue different dreams and develop varying needs, especially when the time comes for them to raise their own family.

The changing needs of the dynamic Filipino family is what GeoEstate Development Corp. had in mind when it developed Soluna, its first house and lot master plan venture in Cavite. Conveniently located at the corner of Molino Boulevard and Mambog Road in Bacoor, the development offers houses that come with a high ceiling and three bedrooms, each of which has its own toilet and bath, a maid’s quarters and a garage that can easily accommodate two cars.

The whole property portrays a contemporary minimalist design that gives residents all the liberty to alter their home according to their own tastes and preferences. Homeowners can actually choose from three model units namely, “Selena,” “Estella” and “Luna,” each of which features a versatile design theme that’s been shaped from a harmony of different personalities.

For instance, the design inspiration for Selena is urban chic in earth tones. One can see hints of sage, turmeric and canary in its color palette which provides just the right warmth and flexibility. Residents can easily settle in with their own trademark accents and other designs that they may wish to incorporate inside their homes.

“Our envisioned client here is really the entire family,” shares Grace Milan, president of GMM Designs Inc. and interior designer of Selena. “The design reflects the different personalities of each member. Nonetheless, it has a quality that everyone else would be able to relate with.”

The story of Selena’s urban chic design portrays a start-up family where the father is a chef for a newly opened restaurant in Alabang and his wife, while holding office at home, is a supplier of fresh herbs for various food establishments. Meanwhile, their little girl is an artist in the making given her love for drawing and coloring.

“We wanted the design to tell an initial story,” reveals Milan. “But we’re giving the buyers some ideas too on how to fix their own homes and let their own story unfold as they move in.”

Milan does this by letting Selena (the model unit) show residents an alternative way to dress up their own rooms. Upon entry through the front door, a spacious interior may readily be seen. The living room, the dining room and the kitchen are also interconnected.

The model unit also utilizes the development’s “flexi-build” option that enables residents to expand their houses. Hence, Selena has an adjacent additional room which can serve as office and guest room. Moreover, the cupboard under the staircase is played up with a roll out shelving that also serves as its door.

“The pieces of furniture and accessories can be purchased off the floor and some can be fabricated easily,” explains Milan. “Most elements in this house model have double uses like the stools at the master bedroom that can likewise be used as storage bins, the girls’ room having a third pull-out bed and double deck with boxed stairs than can serve as storage bins as well, among others.”

Milan credits this versatility in design to the development’s good floor plan. “It was quite easy to balance beauty and function in designing Soluna’s house and lot units because the space has been excellently planned and crafted to begin with.”

As a whole, the 5.5 hectare master planned community is developed for only 194 families with the premium clubhouse housing the various indoor and outdoor amenities located at the center. “It [Soluna] gives a sense of belonging. Neighbours can bond at the outdoor gardens or at the clubhouse which is only a few minutes’ walk from all the houses. Children, on the other hand, can run around the wide open spaces and frolic at the playground,” observed Milan.
