Taking inspiration from the French countryside

My two sisters, Maricar Lopez Tiangco and Pam Gonzales Lopez, recently launched their first collection for their line called Lady Scott Jones (LSJ). They put up a pop-up shop in a warehouse building and invited friends to come over.   

LSJ is a new brand of home furnishings and accessories inspired by the French countryside chateaus that feature a lot of old-wood finishing. They collaborated with a French designer and had the designs manufactured in Indonesia.

LSJ is both their alter egos and a mix of their personalities — the best versions of themselves. They get a lot of inspiration from their travels, and that has trained them to be able to discern what is in good taste.  Their taste revolves around subdued elegance.  LSJ would rather go for the classics rather than trends, what suits the owners and not what is dictated. Aside from that, the brand denotes a lifestyle that focuses on furnishings and accents for the relaxed home.

This is one of my favorites because it has a story behind it. Maricar told me that when she was a little girl, whenever she would go to Lolo Benny and Lola Glecy’s house, she would go straight to their bedroom to greet them.  Most of the time, Lola Glecy would be in her dressing room and after greeting her, she would stay and watch her dress up.  She would always sit in the antique French loveseat.  This was the beginning of her love affair with furniture.  She tried to look for the same loveseat for the past five years in Europe but the antique dealers all said it was very rare and they have not had it in such a long time.  So when they decided to start the business, she made sure that they had a loveseat dedicated to Lola Glecy, the person who has inspired her and taught her everything bout merchandising and retailing

I have very creative sisters and I am lucky because I go to them for advice all the time.  The whole family does. These two ladies are so creative, fashionable and have good taste in clothing, table setting, accessorizing and just anything that needs design.  And so this business is something that will surely be successful.  In fact, their pieces were almost sold out in just one day of selling.  They plan to expand the business through online shopping and introduce more lines in the future.
