Marc by Marc Jacobs opens at Shangri-La East Wing
MANILA, Philippines - Marc by Marc Jacobs — Marc Jacobs’ secondary line — finally opens its second location in the Philippines at the East Wing of the Shangri-La Plaza. Designed by the New York-based Jacklitch/Gardner Architects, the 135 sqm.-store is decked in dark- blue custom-stained white rift oak flooring with Marc blue steel shelves and stainless steel hanging fixture, exuding a casual polish, typical of the Marc by Marc Jacobs line. The shelves show off an assembly of merchandise from men’s and women’s ready-to-wear, handbags, small leather goods and accessories such as scarves, cosmetic pouches, tech cases, watches and sunglasses. Marc by Marc Jacobs favorites such as the Classic Q and Too-Hot-To-Handle lines for bags, seasonal key prints on the apparel and the must-have mouse shoes all have its place in the new Marc by Marc Jacobs store.
Marc Jacobs bridged the gap between luxury and fast fashion through his groundbreaking introduction of Marc By Marc Jacobs in 2001. After much success with his Marc Jacobs line, his fabled Grunge collection with Perry Ellis, and his stint with Louis Vuitton, he felt it was time to introduce this secondary line with a spring 2001 runway show. Since that time, the line has established itself as one of the most successful and influential design-driven contemporary fashion collections. Marc By Marc Jacobs has grown into a leading lifestyle brand with a comprehensive and sought-after offering in ready-to-wear, accessories, footwear, jewelry, tech, watches, eyewear and fragrances. Marc Jacobs himself has gone on to win multiple CFDA awards including Womenswear Designer of the Year, Accessories Designer of the Year, Menswear Designer of the year and the 2011 Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award, among others that he had already claimed.
In the Philippines, Marc by Marc Jacobs is exclusively distributed by Stores Specialists Inc. (SSI) is located at Greenbelt 5 and Shangri-La East Wing.
