The look of summer
Once considered a seasonal trend, sunglasses or shades as they are now called, are hot-sellers year round, regardless of climate and geographic location.
With summer here, one thing we have to do is invest in fashion accessories that can improve one’s personal style and a good pair of sunglasses that’s trendy yet affordable, is definitely a must.
To suit the ever-changing tastes and moods of the contemporary market and in response to the need for quality eyewear at a reasonable price, Sunnies by Charlie was founded in 2013.
Recently this independent eyewear and lifestyle brand based in Manila arrived in Cebu to usher in the summer season. An English-inspired setting served as the venue for the by-invitation only party at the SM Northwing . Social media maven Georgina Wilson, Sunnies by Charlie marketing director, together with business partners operations director Bea Soriano, creative director Martine Cajucom and finance director Eric Dee Jr. flew in to welcome guests.
Celebrated as a trend-savvy sunglasses destination, Sunnies draws inspiration from the ‘60s and ‘70s with a modern twist. The aesthetic is vintage-inspired with the mid-century color stories and the campaigns utilize guerrilla-style photography shot mainly on film.
Guests excitedly tried on one pair after the another in varied shapes, sizes and colors, a testament that Sunnies by Charlie is summer’s most essential style staple.
Delectable canapés and glasses of wine from La Mesa restaurant were passed around as melodic pop music was dished out by lady DJ Veronica.
Georgina had this to say. “Cebu is very fashion-forward and is close to my heart. I come here often and it’s one of my favorite places outside Manila because it feels like home, I belong here.†She also emphasized the attractive price points of a pair of Sunnies, which starts at P249.
With over 150 retro-inspired, classic styles for men, women and kids, Sunnies allows everyone to always be on trend. Cebu’s stylish set certainly left with a pair or two to welcome summer.
A general guideline on the best way to choose the right frames for sunglasses is by face shape. In other words the shape of the sunglasses should be the opposite of the shape of your face. However, smaller sunglasses are best for smaller faces while larger ones are best for larger faces.
