A smashing Swiss fest
Cebu City’s cream of the crop were treated to an entire week of the rich culinary goodness of Switzerland as Marco Polo Plaza Cebu (MPPC), the leading 5-star hotel in the Queen City of the South under the brilliant leadership of general manager and Marco Polo Hotels, Philippines area general manager Hans Hauri and resident manager Julie Najar, hosted the 7th Swiss Alpine Festival. Taking center stage in this well-loved culinary journey were sumptuous and mouthwatering dishes prepared by the hotel’s highly-skilled chefs. The yearly festival ended on a high note as a Swiss National Day was held on the last day that featured a delectable Swiss buffet complemented with overflowing drinks, fun games, live entertainment and an exciting raffle draw. Present during this lovely affair was Swiss embassy counselor and deputy head of mission Juerg Casserini who gave an update about the embassy’s events and activities.
A day in a Queen’s life
A gathering of the metro’s beautiful faces took place at Chef Jessie at Rockwell Club in Makati for the fabulous birthday celebration of actress-beauty queen Jean Saburit. Hearty laughter filled the entire evening as everyone shared fond stories about the stylish celebrator while enjoying the sumptuous French-inspired dinner. The intimate affair became even more special as two people closest to Jean’s heart also celebrated their birthdays: daughter Nicole Andersson and friend Belarus consul Annette Ablan.
